1. I'm going to Perm, Russia in a month to play hockey
2. I've lost two fingernails. One in a sliding van door, another courtesy of a pigeon.
3. My leg has been broken by a bookshelf
4. I really want to learn Photoshop... MS Paint just doesn't cut it.
5. I am openly obsessed with Danny Phantom

If you don't have Photoshop yet, you might try Paint.net - a free program which I gather is quite good. Better than MS Paint for sure. There's also GIMP, which is also free. You can find them both easily by Google.

I really need to know - how did a pigeon remove your fingernail?

Also, a nice simple free drawing program that gives very good results is OpenCanvas (the earlier free version) which you can download here: [link]

But it might not work on Vista if you have that.

Fun story...

An old man in my neighborhood had a tamed pigeon which he walked once in a while, and sometimes it flew at children. So anyways, I went outside to see it, and it flew at me, and I ran to my house (my mom watching from the open front door) and had my hand in the doorway.

So my mom then instinctively slammed the door so the bird couldn't get into the house, whilst my hand was there.

So I was screaming in pain, but my mom thought it was because the pigeon was there. So anyways, I had to rip my hand out the door to get away... The fingernail fell off a few months later in the middle of a school assembly.
So technically it wasn't the pigeon itself, though it triggered the event which did the deed.

Yow!

This is why I always get nervous when I see anybody's hand near the edge of a door! Hope your finger recovered okay.

I hope you find one of them useful! I like drawing with OC (not that I'm much of an artist) - it gives you a nice smooth line, much better than MS Paint. And it's quite flexible for such a small program.

yup, I have a normal hand, a reason to hate pigeons and a bonus random story to boot! I wasn't a win-win, but a 'win-win-win'!
